Field Problem Solving
Helping GCs find compliant solutions when challenges arise on the job site.
Construction doesn't always go according to plan. When a general contractor encounters an unexpected firestopping challenge in the field — an unusual penetration, a condition not covered by a standard system, or a layout that doesn't match the original drawings — we step in to help find a compliant solution.
Job Site Assistance
Most of our projects are driven by published construction documents. When conditions in the field deviate from those plans, we work directly with the GC to identify the right firestopping approach for the actual conditions encountered.
Engineering Judgments (EJs)
When no standard UL-listed system exists for a specific field condition, an Engineering Judgment may be required. We can facilitate the EJ process — coordinating with the appropriate parties to get a formally documented, code-accepted solution.
Material & System Selection
We help select the correct UL-listed materials and tested system configurations for each unique condition, ensuring the installation meets fire rating requirements and will pass inspection.
